Back to the home pageThis page explains how to delete your account on SocialZoom, the social platform for digital marketing run by Suraj Kumar Rajak (trading as Social Zoom), and what happens to your information when you do.
Before you delete
- Deleting your account is permanent. It can’t be undone, and we can’t bring your account back afterwards, even if you ask.
- Save a copy of your data first. In the app, go to Settings and tap Download your data.
- Cancel any paid plan first. Deleting your account doesn’t cancel a Pro subscription you bought through the App Store or Google Play, so cancel it there as well. It doesn’t cancel a plan you bought from us directly either, such as Pro on our website or a marketing plan, so cancel that with us. Our Refund & Cancellation Policy explains how.
Option 1: Delete your account in the app
- Open SocialZoom and go to your profile.
- Tap the Settings icon (the gear).
- Under Your account, tap Delete account.
- Read what will be deleted, type your username to confirm, and tap Delete my account.
Your account is deleted straight away, and you are signed out.
Option 2: Delete your account on this website
- Sign in on this page with the same details you use in the SocialZoom app.
- Check that you are signed in to the right account.
- Confirm that you want to delete it.
We ask you to sign in so that nobody can delete someone else’s account.
If you can’t sign in
Email privacy@socialzoom.co from the email address linked to your SocialZoom account, with the subject "Delete my account". Include your username.
If you can’t use that email address any more, tell us, and we’ll explain how you can show us the account is yours. We will never ask for your password.
Once we have confirmed that the account is yours, we’ll delete it within 30 days of your request, and email you when it’s done.
What is deleted
As soon as you confirm, we delete:
- your account and sign-in details (your email address and password);
- your profile: your name, username, photo, bio, website link, verified tick and Pro status;
- your date of birth, country and phone number;
- your posts and stories, including your story archive, and the likes and comments on them;
- the tags you put on people, and the places you added to your posts;
- your comments and likes on other people’s posts;
- your followers, the accounts you follow, and any follow requests waiting on you;
- your saved posts;
- the messages you’ve sent, including photos, videos and voice notes;
- your referral code, the record of anyone who used it, and the phone number digests kept against those referrals (one separate record survives - see "What we keep");
- your blocked accounts and hidden words;
- the record of each device we send notifications to, so nothing can be sent to your phones again;
- your sign-in sessions, so no device can sign back in to the account.
Your posts and stories stop appearing on SocialZoom straight away. The photos and videos you uploaded are removed from our storage within 30 days.
What we keep
- Messages other people sent you. These stay in their own inbox.
- Tags other people put on you. A tag belongs to the post it is on, so it goes when that post’s author deletes it. You can remove any tag on you before you delete your account.
- Reports. Reports you’ve made, and reports others made about your account, are kept so they can still be reviewed. They are no longer linked to your account.
- That your phone number has claimed a referral. If you used somebody’s referral code, we keep one record meaning "this number has already claimed a referral" - a scrambled, keyed version of the number and the date, with no name and nothing that points back at you. It is there so that deleting an account and signing up again on the same number can’t be used to claim a second reward. It is deleted 90 days after the code was used, whether or not your account still exists, and immediately if our team rejected the referral. Section 6a of the Privacy Policy explains it in full.
- Backups. Copies of your information may remain in our backups for up to 30 days, until they are replaced by newer backups.
- Server logs. These are kept for 180 days for security, then deleted.
- Marketing services. If you bought a marketing service from us, the details we hold to deliver it aren’t part of your app account. We keep them as our Privacy Policy explains, and you can ask us to delete them at privacy@socialzoom.co.
- Information the law requires us to keep. For example, records of purchases that tax laws require, or information connected to a legal request or an investigation, such as a report of child sexual abuse material. We keep this only for as long as the law requires.
We can’t delete copies or screenshots that other people have made of things you shared.
